The Woman in the Spare Room
When Liam and Sophie moved into their new house, the spare room was always cold.
They assumed it was because the radiator didn't work.
One night, Sophie heard someone walking around inside it.
She opened the door.
Nothing.
The next morning, Liam found a cup of tea on the floor outside the room.
Neither of them had made it.
That evening, Sophie asked the neighbour about the room.
The woman went silent.
Then she said, “You shouldn't be sleeping in that house.”
Liam laughed.
“Why?”
The neighbour looked at Sophie.
“Because the previous couple did.”
Sophie frowned.
“What happened to them?”
The woman whispered,
“They're still there.”
