The Recording

Daniel noticed his wife, Charlotte, whispering in her sleep.

So one night, he left his phone recording beside the bed.

The next morning, he listened to it.

For hours, there was only silence.

Then, at 3:11 a.m., Charlotte whispered:

“Daniel isn't my husband.”

He froze.

A few seconds later, another voice answered from beside the bed.

“I know.”

Daniel immediately looked at Charlotte.

She was still asleep.

Then he heard his own voice on the recording:

“She hasn't realised yet.”
