The Village That Doesn't Appear on Maps

James was driving through northern Wales when his car broke down.

He found a tiny village nearby.

There was a pub, a church, a post office and around twenty houses.

Everyone was friendly.

But when James asked the village name, nobody answered.

At the pub, he finally asked an elderly man.

The man leaned closer.

“You shouldn't know we're here.”

James laughed.

“What does that mean?”

The old man pointed toward the window.

“Look outside.”

James looked.

Every person in the village was standing perfectly still.

Watching him.

That night, James found an old map inside the pub.

The village wasn't marked.

But there was a handwritten note:

“Village evacuated in 1953.”

Underneath it were dozens of names.

James recognised one.

His own grandfather.

Then he noticed the final name.

James — 2026.
