The Man in Seat 14A

The Man in Seat 14A

Every flight, Daniel noticed the same man sitting in seat 14A.

The strange part was that Daniel worked for the airline—and the seat had been permanently removed from the aircraft two years earlier.

One night, during a routine flight, Daniel saw the man sitting there anyway.

“Sir, may I see your boarding pass?”

The man handed him one.

Daniel looked at it.

Flight 407.

Date: 17 March 1999.

Daniel's blood ran cold.

Flight 407 had crashed twenty-seven years ago.

There had been no survivors.

Daniel looked back toward the seat.

The man was staring directly at him.

“Is everyone still asleep?” he asked.

Daniel swallowed.

“Yes.”

The man smiled.

“Good.”

Then every passenger on the plane suddenly turned their heads toward Daniel.

And they were all wearing the same expression.

The captain's voice came through the intercom:

“Daniel, please return to your seat. You're disturbing the passengers.”
