The Voice in the Next Room
Every night at 2:13 AM, Daniel heard his wife whispering from the spare bedroom.
“Daniel… come here.”
The first few nights, he ignored it.
Then one night, his wife woke beside him.
She grabbed his arm.
“Did you hear that?”
From the spare bedroom:
“Daniel… come here.”
His wife started crying.
They both knew the room was empty.
Daniel slowly walked toward the door.
His wife whispered, “Don't open it.”
Then the voice changed.
It sounded exactly like Daniel.
“Don't listen to her. She's not your wife.”
There was silence.
Then his wife's voice came from inside the room:
“Daniel… please help me.”
He turned toward his wife.
She was still standing beside him.
But she was smiling.
And she whispered:
“You shouldn't have opened the door.”
