I was sitting alone in a hotel lobby around 11:30 p.m., waiting for a taxi, when a woman walked past me and suddenly stopped. She looked at me for a few seconds and said, “You're Fahad, right?” I had never seen her before, so I asked how she knew my name. She smiled and said, “Sorry. You look exactly like someone I know,” then walked toward the elevators. About twenty minutes later, I went upstairs to my room and noticed a photograph lying outside my door. It was a picture of me sitting in the hotel lobby, and I hadn't noticed anyone taking it. I immediately went downstairs and showed the receptionist. Her expression changed when she saw it. I described the woman, and she quietly told me, “She checked out three days ago.” I thought she was joking, but she showed me the security footage. The woman was clearly there, but when we played the audio, she never said a word. She simply stood in front of me for several seconds and walked away. Then I noticed something in the footage—the photograph had been taken from the second floor, where my room was. I went back upstairs with a security guard, and my door was still locked. Nothing seemed missing, but there was another photograph sitting on my desk. It showed me unlocking my hotel room earlier that evening. On the back, someone had written: “Now you know why I recognized you.”
