But there was something wrong. She was standing in the photograph. Same clothes. Same hair. Same face. She stepped backward. The photograph changed. Now there were two Sophies in the lobby. One stood near the stairs. The other was looking directly at the camera. Sophie grabbed the frame and dropped it. When she looked again, the photograph showed her running through Room 12. Terrified, she sprinted outside and ran to reception. The receptionist stared at her in silence. “You opened it.” Sophie nodded. He slowly pointed toward the wall behind her. There was another photograph. This one was dated 1947. It showed the receptionist's grandfather standing beside Room 12. And beside him was a woman who looked exactly like Sophie.
