THE PHOTOGRAPH FROM TOMORROW

James found an old camera at a charity shop.

It still worked.

He took a photograph of his kitchen.

When the picture developed, he noticed something strange.

The clock showed 11:42 p.m.

But it was only 9:00 p.m.

He took another photograph.

This time, the kitchen was empty.

The clock showed midnight.

Then he heard a noise from upstairs.

James took another picture.

In the photograph, someone was standing behind him.

He immediately turned around.

Nobody was there.

His hands shook as he checked the final photograph.

It showed his front door.

A police officer was standing outside.

Behind the officer was an ambulance.

The timestamp said:

Tomorrow — 12:17 a.m.

James didn't sleep that night.

At 12:16 a.m., someone knocked on his door.

He looked through the window.

The police were outside.

And behind them was an ambulance.
