The Man in the CCTV

A security guard named Oliver noticed something strange during his night shifts at an office building in Birmingham. Every morning at exactly 4:22 a.m., CCTV Camera 17 showed a man walking through the basement corridor. The man wore a grey suit and carried a briefcase. Oliver assumed he was an employee until he checked the access records. Nobody entered the basement at that time. One morning, Oliver zoomed in on the man's face.

 He recognised him immediately. It was Oliver himself. Same face. Same uniform. Same scar above his eyebrow. Oliver watched the footage repeatedly, trying to find an explanation. Then, one night, the figure stopped walking. He turned directly toward Camera 17. He raised one finger to his lips. Shhh. Oliver felt sick. The next morning, he checked the footage from the previous night. At 4:22 a.m., the camera showed the mysterious man walking toward the security room. But this time, he wasn't alone. Oliver was walking behind him. Oliver had no memory of leaving his chair. He checked the final frame. The mysterious version of himself was holding the camera's broken lens in his hand. Underneath the footage was a timestamp: 4:23 a.m. Then the CCTV monitor went black.
