THE MYSTERIOUS NOTE
Once, there was a kind little girl named Elara. She lived with her parents in a quiet old house near the lake. Elara loved exploring the attic, where no one ever went.
One rainy afternoon, while looking through a box of old things, she found a small, weathered notebook. On the first page, there was a single sentence written in beautiful handwriting:
“If you find this, it means I trusted you enough to leave it behind.”
Curious, Elara flipped through the pages and discovered a series of strange clues, forgotten places, and a name she had never heard before.
The last page was different. It had a drawing of a place she had never seen... and a note that made her heart race.
What did it mean? And who was “the one” who left it
Elara stared at the final sentence.
“What did it mean? And who was ‘the one’ who left it?”
She closed the notebook and decided to return to the attic.
But when she reached the stairs, she noticed something strange.
The attic door was already open.
She slowly stepped inside.
The old wooden chest where she had found the notebook was open too. Inside, beneath the dusty blankets, was a small silver key.
Elara picked it up.
Attached to the key was a tiny piece of paper:
“The place in the drawing is not far away. Look where the lake meets the forest.”
The next morning, Elara followed the clue.
At the edge of the lake, hidden behind thick trees, she discovered an old wooden cabin.
It looked exactly like the drawing in the notebook.
The door opened with the silver key.
Inside, there were dozens of photographs covering the walls.
Elara walked closer.
Every photograph showed the same mysterious girl.
Then she noticed something that made her breath catch.
The girl was standing beside Elara’s grandmother.
And beneath the photograph was written:
“The night she disappeared, your grandmother promised she would keep the secret.”
Elara suddenly heard the cabin door slam shut behind her.
She turned around.
On the table, the notebook had opened by itself.
A new sentence appeared on the empty page:
“Now you know where I disappeared… but do you know why?”
Then, from the room behind her, came the sound of someone slowly turning a key in a lock...
