THE FORGOTTEN LAKE

THE FORGOTTEN LAKE

Emma found an old photograph in her grandmother’s attic.
It showed a beautiful lake with a small cabin beside it.
On the back, someone had written:
“Don’t go there… it’s still waiting.”
Curious, Emma went to the lake.
The cabin was still there.
But nobody answered when she knocked.
Then she noticed wet footprints leading from the lake straight to the cabin door.
She looked toward the water.
A woman was standing in the middle of the lake.
Emma grabbed her phone and zoomed in.
The woman slowly raised her hand and pointed toward the cabin.
Then she disappeared.
Something floated toward Emma.
It was an old photograph.
It showed Emma standing on the dock.
The photograph had been taken that morning.
On the back were three words:
“You came back.”
Emma froze.
She had never been there before.
Suddenly, her phone rang.
The caller ID showed her dead grandmother's name.
Emma answered.
Her grandmother whispered:
“Emma… leave the lake.”
Then:
“Whatever you do, don't look into the water.”
Emma slowly looked down.
Her reflection was smiling.
But Emma wasn't.
Then another reflection appeared beside hers.
It was her grandmother.
And from behind Emma came a whisper:
“Your family has been waiting for you.” 👇
